The American Cancer Society’s "Cancer Statistics, 2025" report estimates that 2,041,910 new cancer cases and 618,120 cancer-related deaths will occur in the United States this year. This translates to 5,600 new cancer diagnoses and 1,700 deaths per day. Despite the overall 34% decline in cancer mortality since 1991, which has led to nearly 4.5 million fewer cancer deaths, the report highlights significant challenges, including a rise in cancer incidence among younger populations and gender-based and racial disparities in outcomes.
